Hopefully you had a chance to think about your WINsuit, and you’ve identified at least one if you’re not sure here’s the link to the previous coaching session the three strengths (WINsuits) that form you (you probably didn’t even know they existed) okay so you now should have identified one, here’s how to use it.
Start with one even if you’re not sure
Have you started to think about your WINsuits? All you really have to do is start with one WINsuit, which will be plenty to start with, as we start building the new you. Soon we will dive deep into this technology. However as you discover how this technology works, it will be helpful to you to have in the back of your mind this concept of WINsuits. Now I will share my second WINsuit, and remember to think about yours as I go through mine.
My best friend and I, from our tween years, had a real interest in dirt bikes and racing motocross. It started as mini-bikes that we built from lawnmowers that we found thrown away in the garbage and minibike frames that we bought through mail order. My problem was that my father hated dirt bikes. He was scared I would hurt myself, so his attitude was if you want one, you pay for, and if it needs to be fixed, you pay for it too.
My best friend’s father loved dirt bikes and probably some of my best friend’s passion was passed down from his father. Dirt bikes, especially back in the mid to late 70s, evolved dramatically from year to year, and if you wanted to be competitive you needed the latest model, and then all the aftermarket parts, which were expensive.
I had no choice, if I wanted to pursue my passion, I needed to become resourceful. For example, I needed to find a way to pay for the sport, which meant all sorts of jobs. I had a paper route, I went around the neighborhood collecting junk on Wednesday mornings to bring to the junkyard for sale, and I had a little landscaping business cutting the neighbors lawns, plus I had some gas station, de-weeding accounts, bike shop, motorcycle shop, etc. Then I had to figure out how to transport my bike to races and practices. My father didn’t have a truck and if he did he would never bring me to a race for fear I would get hurt.
That caused me to come up with all different inventive ways to get my bike where it needed to go before I got a driver’s license. When my dirt bike broke down, I had to fix it and even if I couldn’t I had to figure it out, sometimes even making a part or coming up with something that worked. Often that led to making additional parts and selling them at the races. As I developed this ability, I remember how alive I became when I came up with a resourceful solution. Now that you know how my second WINsuit developed, let me now show you how I reinforced it and built on top of it.
WINsuits create energy, fuel and passion
With resourcefulness, there’s not really a weakness, so I just built on top of this second pillared the majority of my WINstructions, here are some examples, take note of the evolution. I possess this amazing ability to come up with resourceful solutions for every problem; another one, I am a resourcefulness generating factory; another, every day in every way I become even more resourceful, it never seems to end; I am resourceful in my enthusiasm for life that radiates from me and infects other people; I am resourceful with the way I replace “have to” with “get to” into my every day conversations with myself and others; resourcefully I understand that it all starts with insignificance that takes root and sprouts, then flourishes almost instantly into my being. Did you see the evolution? Can you see how something that excites me naturally, is part of who I am from early in life, is at my core, is me, and as a result inspires, motivates, causes passion and therefore, is easy for me?
You’re probably a bit confused though right now, probably not understanding completely what a WINstruction is, we will get to that in a future coaching session for now I just need you to, trust me, have a little faith that it’s important to identify your WINsuits.
Your homework assignment is to continue to think about them, use my stories and reflect than yours once again it doesn’t matter if they’re positive or negative, good or bad just that, they’re part of you, deep in you, at your core. It is who you “are”, your very “being”, it is who you “is”. I know you’re saying, why do I keep using this poor English with the words “are” “being” “is”. I promise you you’ll understand this better as we move forward.
